Villa Floripa - About Florianopolis
Florianópolis or “Floripa” is an absolute island paradise (22 miles long!), with 42 beaches, beautiful happy-go-lucky people, and great weather. Floripa is the capital city of Santa Catarina state in southern Brazil, and comprises Santa Catarina Island, some small islands, and a continental part.
Considered one of the safest cities in Brazil, Floripa is the perfect vacation destination and was also named “the best place to live in Brazil” by Vega magazine. The island offers a little bit of everything: quaint fishing villages with seafood restaurants, upscale residential areas, nature preserves, casual and fine dining, boutiques, outdoor sports and activities, world-class surf, a huge shopping mall and cinema complex, and a vibrant nightlife.
The incredible scenery of Floripa will literally take your breath away. Soft white sand beaches, sand dunes, the mystic lagoon (Lagoa de Conceição), small surrounding islands, and verdant mountains make up the backdrop against which beautiful and friendly Brazilians soak up the sun. Life in Floripa is not like anything you have experienced before; the locals and vacationers alike enjoy life – you can see it on their faces and in the bounce in their step!

Stroll through the town of Lagoa de Conceição, less than one mile from the house, shop the boutiques, or sit outside for an afternoon tea/coffee at one of the many cafes.
At night, Floripa’s scene becomes more lively, with options for all different tastes. The local and world cuisines are showcased in the plentiful restaurant offerings. Bars feature live music every single night, including rock, reggae, Brazilian folkloric, jazz, and other latin styles. And of course, the clubs and dance halls invite you to have a delicious caipirinha and dance the night away.
